Unfortunately you seem to have an all too common, Vista incompatability problem.

Try going to the websites of the manufacturers and see if they have drivers for your hardware.

If there are not, they will be developing drivers or you have fallen into the pit as many new to Vista have.

It needs to be considered that Microsoft are not really paying that much attention to Vista, as all of their development team are concentrating on developing Windows 7, due out in 2010.

Unfortunately this puts Vista in a 21st century situation as ME was prior to XP.

Vista is not what everyone was expecting and falls short on many counts, the older XP being superior.

I can only hope you can find your drivers, or the future looks bleak.

The only thing to consider is a move to XP, even then you may not have XP drivers for your laptop, so tread with caution.

Vista is a nasty cynical OS which has been an expensive mistake for many, including myself.

Damn you Microsoft.

The problem with your software and hardware devices is that you either don't have the proper drivers from the vendor or the vendor has not provided MS Vista based drivers. The first step for you is to visit each vendor website and check for the latest drivers they offer and select (if available) the one for MS Vista. If the driver is not available for Vista, try persuading the vendor to support it.

Another option is to stick with MS XP (if new hardware, downgrade to XP). At this time, it has better support by third party vendors.

go to the manufacturer's website for the printer, camcorder...
go to support, and type in you model number. Look for a vista driver or firmware.

I know for sure there are driver out there that will make your printer work, haven't looked into cameras though.

Hopefully this helps, Good Luck

Well as far as somethings not working you should contact the manufacturers and see if they have Vista updates. You can always check out the Vista page to see what info they have on how to use it efficiently.

Edit: Seriously now, the others are correct in that you MAY or may Not EVER find drivers for your periferals for Vista and/or XP drivers for that new laptop. Only time will tell.
