go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m.
I know a woman who lost 60 pounds a month on it. She did nothing else!

It is quite possible to lose weight by simply eating less, without any significant exercize. However, exercize has benefits far above being merely an adjunct to weight loss. Exercize strengthens the total body, and boosts metabolism. A higher metabolism means you burn calories faster and more efficiently. An increase in exercize PLUS a decrease in caloric intake is all any person needs to lose weight, even if they are genetically prone to easy weight gain. These billions of dollars spent by Americans on useless diets and dietary aids and supplements are almost always a waste of money. Use my simple method: Lower caloric intake and increase amount burned in exercize: [remember a healthy diet is better than just a low calorie diet. Weight Watchers is one plan that actually works] and you'll end up SAVING money not blowing money.

For a short period of time and for a little weight, yes. It's calories consumed vs. calories expended, but it's also not that simple. When you consistently eat less food, your body thinks you are starving (in a sense), and slows your metabolism to compensate for the loss of caloric intake. Thus, you stop losing weight.
Exercise is vitally important if you are serious about losing weight. Building muscle consumes more calories. You will even burn more calories while you sleep (!) if you exercise regularly. Eating less is really not a plan for weight loss.

That is such a lazy attitude
Why not just do some excercise?
Go for a run or something AND eat less and you will lose even more weight faster

Yes, if you eat right. Diet is a much bigger weapon in weight loss than exercise is. You can work out like a mad fiend and not lose any weight if your diet isn't in order. Believe me; I know -- when I started gaining weight I started exercising, and I kept increasing the intensity and length of my workouts and was STILL gaining weight. But once I started watching what I ate and how much I ate, the pounds started coming off.
Here are a few diet tips:
1. Eat breakfast every day within an hour of getting up. People who don't are 450% more likely to be overweight.
2. Eat six small meals or snacks per day instead of three squares per day or one big meal per day. Your body expends energy digesting your food, so eating smaller portions more often keeps your metabolism running high because you're constantly digesting food.
3. Avoid these as much as possible:
-- Trans fat (any type of partially or fully hydrogenated oil)
-- High fructose corn syrup (soft drinks are LOADED with it)
-- Fast food
-- Junk food
-- White sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes
-- The deadly C's (cookies, cakes, candy, chips, cola)
4. Build your diet around these trim-body-friendly foods:
-- Nuts, any kind (almonds are best)
-- Beans/Legumes
-- Fresh vegetables (green is GREAT!!!)
-- Dairy products (as long as they're low-fat or non-fat)
-- Eggs
-- Lean meats (fish and poultry top the list)
-- Olive oil
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (anything that ends in "berry" is a winner)
-- Tea (green tea or black pekoe tea)
-- Cold water or ice water (your body has to expend extra calories to heat it up)
5. Desserts and treats are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, however, (1) you can have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day - just don't overdo, and (2) Allow yourself one "cheat meal" every week where you eat and drink whatever you want as long as you don't gorge yourself. That'll help keep you from feeling deprived and it'll make it easier to stick with your new healthy eating plan.
Good luck!

No. My own experience. Cause in the still mode your body doe s not burn off the excist fat and calories. You need to walk daily even if it is only for 30 to 45 min. I go every day in the park with two dogs so long as the cold weather permits it.

yes, but the body reacts badly once you start eating regular agin. you have to stick with your diet. when the body is givin less food you stomach shrinks, but once you lose the weight and start eating normal again you gain all the weight back faster because your stomach absorbs the food fast.

you will but you would have to eat very little, and thats not wise! your body will go into starvation mode, and then when you do relapse and have something nice it will just turn into fat. You will just lose muscle and not much fat, and anyway.......it's more important to be healthy, doing no exercise is not good atalllllll, you may lose weight but ud probs have a heart attack!

Yes, your body burns calories all the time, even when you're asleep.
If you eat less than you burn - you will lose weight.

You might be able to depending on your body. Eat whatever you want but in smaller portions. Also exercising will help with that as well. Dont starve yourself it will only make things worse.
