If you are in the US, at age 18 you can do whatever you want.

In my opinion, when it's right, you'll know it. Don't succomb to peer presure or watch some kind of clock. Sooner or later it happens for everyone.

If you are underage, don't forget to ask the people that care about you most, your parents. Well, maybe just your mother. :)
