Chihuahuas can be very picky eaters! The first thing you need to do, is to buy a good, high quality food, that does not have by products, fillers, and preservatives in it. Science Diet, Purina Products, and any food that is sold in grocery stores, retail stores like Walmart, is junk food. All of that food, is the worst possible food, you could feed your dog. I personally call that food Road Kill! You would too, if you knew what was in it! There are so many high quality foods out there, that you can choose from:
http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/index.php/cat/1 I have 5 Chihuahuas, and I feed all of my dogs, Canidae All Life Stages. It's rated #5 on the list! When I switched mine, I did not think, they would be interested in it. I bought a small bag of Canidae All Life Stages, just to try it. I mixed the old food, which was Royal Canin for Chihuahuas, with the Canidae. They went for it right away and loved it. They sat there and picked out the Canidae kibble and had no interest in the Royal Canin kibble. Canidae is made for all stages of a dogs life, so you don't have to switch to an adult food, when your puppy becomes an adult, you can stay with the Canidae. It is all natural, human grade, naturally preserved, made in the USA, has NO corn, wheat, soy, grain fractions, fillers, by products, preservatives, or dyes in it! It also, very reasonably priced! It's not easy to find, but if you go to this link:
http://www.canidae.com/dogs/all_life_stages/dry.html
Go to the Store Locator Link:
http://www.canidae.com/company/storelocator.html
Type in the city you live in, and it will bring up a list of the stores in your area, that carry it!
Start off with a small bag at first and see if she likes it. A small 5 lb bag will cost you under $10. If she does like it, you can always get a larger bag later. This food will also last longer, because she won't eat as much, but she will still get all of the nutrients she needs, so you will end up saving money, in the long run. I just want to add, that when I take all of my babies to the vet for their exams, she is surprised at how healthy they all are each time I take them. She asked me what I feed them, I told her Canidae All Life Stages and told me to stay with the Canidae. My Chihuahuas have also never had any problems with allergies of any kind, and have never had any skin problems. Whatever food you decide to switch her too, do it slowly, because if you switch too fast, she will end up with an upset tummy, vomiting, indigestion, heartburn, diarrhea, and refuse to eat. Over a period of 1 week to 1 1/2 weeks, mix a little of the new food, with the old food, and every couple of days, add more new food, to the old food, until she is eating the new food only. It will make her tummy a lot less sensitive. If I can be of any more help, please go to my profile and e-mail me. I will do the best I can to answer any questions you may have. I hope this helps!

I believe it relies on what you name a again backyard breeder. Its come to be a time period implemented to any individual any one does not consider meets their possess individual typical for what a puppy breeder is. there are well breeders and unhealthy ones each registered and now not. You as a customer ought to on your study into the breed you wish, and the trying out that demands performed. Before you move to peer dogs. whilst you move. ask questions. Are the sire and dam there at the estate? Can you notice them? are you able to talk with the house owners vet? Do the puppies do what they will have to? do they factor, retrieve? hunt? are the doggies good socialized? do they run to or clear of individuals. is the location blank and in well fix. Can you move into the kennels in which the puppies are living. Will the breeder supply you a replica of the father and mother pedigree so you'll be able to do a little study? its a customer pay attention international. I've visible puppies from " well breeders" who're terrible specimens in their breed. and puppies from a " garden breeder" ( known as considering that she breeds one clutter a 12 months, and refuses to exhibit her puppies in conformation however does take them to discipline trials in which all of them have titles)..which are first-rate.
