I will tell you this, if one person says Topomax or Lamictal makes them tired, worn out and unsteady chances are it may not make you that way. I tested new meds before they were put out and told my Drs I had no side effects but when some others tried them , they did. It depends on the person ,their body and what they are used to doing . I worked as a warehouseman plus helped on a farm also, and was used to long hours and hardly any sleep. People who started taking some of the meds I was on said it was like taking sleeping pills, made them tired but not me so each person will be different when it comes to side effects. I'm on Topamax and Keppra now and have no side effects to either.

The side effects clearly depend on the person taking the medication.
I took 5 different meds and had a different reaction to each one. I am currently takinf 4 of these 5. The depakote I am not taking but took for many years.
Lamictal, my hair is falling out and thinng, and I can get very violent and psychotic. I can also get weird vision problem. The only way I know to describe it is trippin on A ( not that I would know seriously,)
Topamax- I also have gotten very violent and psychotic, and loss of taste for alcohol.
Keppra- Extreme agitation and agression as described and weight gain. Although it says weight loss, I have gained so much weight since i started taking it.
Zarontin- Extreme weight loss
Depakote- Extreme weight gain
Yet, everyone has their own side effects.
Yours is to be determined

Depends on the type. A lot of the midications can also be prescribed as anti depresants. So,...weight gain, depression, sleeplessness. Many things COULD happen, but it's better to take them rather than not. I was on Depakote for a few years and gained a lot of weight. I am now supposed to take Lamactol, and the side effects were minimal...no weight gain or anything.

If you could specify the medicine, I could probably be more helpful.

You may search in Wikipedia for the side effects of the prescribed anticonvulsant medication.

If someone is having side effects--you NEED to call that doctor about it!!! P-R-O-N-T-O!!!!!! if not sooner!!

They can change it till it works without OVERmedicating!!!
