If you know what sacred texts says and you know that someone's behavior violates what is written, then why would you not expound on the fact that that person isn't living according to the text?

Good question. It doesn't matter if it's sacred text or just a self help book if you don't live it out there's no point in reading it. But, just because you can't do something to perfection doesn't mean you shouldn't try.

Behavior is an element so many people seem to forget in the intramurals that occur between different belief systems.

If people focused more on the former than the later, what an easier would we all have.

you simply shouldn't, I would care more of someone who actually learned from and lived the principles of said sacred text and applied it to themselves and the benefit of humanity

Most "sacred" texts are a crock of bleep. I submit that their ambiguities and lack of clarity make them SUBJECT TO INTERPERTATION and therefore render them irrelevent. To me a sacred text should be crystal clear in it's meaning and intent. I shouldn't go into my bookstore and see more than one version...and shelf upon shelf of HOW TO READ & UNDERSTAND same. It's foolhardy to rely upon such nonsense to live one's life by. PEACE!

This is why the Bible says that we need to be a shining light on a hill. Because every human being is more influenced by other's actions than by other's words. (It's that whole "do as I say, not as I do" thing)
