Rotator Cuff Repair Surgery is difficult with either sex. But, I understand your question. It is quite difficult to do laundry, cook, clean with only one arm, and taking a shower is quite difficult. I am a female and, I have had Rotator Cuff Surgery on each shoulder, most recently, April 07'. This surgery was more challenging because it was my left shoulder and, I'm a leftie . I progressed well with physical therapy and then home physical therapy exercises. But, about one month ago, I re-tore my Rotator Cuff. A full thickness tear and now, I have to have surgery again but, this time, it cannot be done through a scope because I have scar tissue. So, yeah, about a 5 inch incision on my shoulder. Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on. But, yes, I do think that it is more difficult for a female. I'm sure others will disagree but, unless a person has had this surgery themselves, they have no idea what effect it has on your daily routine. Wear loose fitting clothing because it is easier to dress yourself if the clothes are loose.Good Luck with your surgery.

No, absolutely not. The rotator cuff is just that - a kind of cuff around the joint where your upper arm joins your shoulder.
It allows the arm to rotate around in all directions - rather like the universal joint on a car.
Doesn't matter if you're a man, woman, cook, mechanic, secretary, or a brain surgeon - you probably need the surgery to be able to get full use out of your arm without pain or hinder.
Edit - Oh, by the way, wear a blouse or sweatshirt that has buttons or a zipper opening all the way down the front, because it will be hard for you raise your arm over your head far enough to pull a article of clothing over your head directly after surgery.
Take care and get well soon!

Thankfully I did not tear mine, just had extensive calcification, so they used the Lithotripsey Machine on my right shoulder. Now the left shoulder has just started, so I am hoping to get it sorted before it goes too far. Good Luck
