I am asking because We all in the R.&S.site recieved a prayer request from a 16 year old suicidal boy. his question is in voting, the next question he asked was for sad songs to listen to. We haven't heard from him since. Do you think he put the question to a vote or will Yahoo put a answer to a vote if the asker doesn't? I am worried about this kid!

I went into his profile and this kid has 44 questions in voting. I have been voting on his questions. I am hoping that he is alright.

Mabel, the question probably went to vote on its own.

I'm against reporting people for any reason, but Yahoo! has a policy in place for dealing with those who may be threatening suicide.

The protocol is to report the question and in the "details" box add that you are worried the asker may be considering taking their own life. Yahoo! states that they contact this person and offer help. I don't know how true this is, it's only something I have read in the suggestions forum.

Yahoo! really does need to set a policy in place, and they need to blog it to keep us informed.

EDIT: Mabel, what's the nature of his other questions? Sometimes that provides a clue as to the person's general mindset. If it appears this boy is in trouble, you might want to leave a note for Jane over in the suggestions forum, along with a link to his profile. She'll take it from there.
