I second that. If you say that something or someone "mola(s)"- in Spanish- you're saying it is very cool.

Mola means that something is "also", or "cool"

And yes, it's spanish, but not from Mexico. It's used in Chile and Argentina.

I'm native spanish speaker, mexican, living and answering from central México, and....

I have never heard the word "mola", that is NOT a spanish word; probably it some kind of slang, but not from México.
Here "cool" would be "suave" ("soft") or "padre" ("father") or " a toda madre" ("too very mother") or "chido".

normally i watch a great deal of television set but i do love a good publication if i get into the book i wont put it down and i really like that i get to use my creativity so much more than with a tv
