Is these times of enlightenment and understanding isn't it about time we just said that we won't pander to religions anymore?

Islam, Christianity, Judaism Hinduism etc have about as much validity as Jedi-ism. They're out dated beliefs, whether or not half the planet is a follower or not.

Like Nietsche said 'God is Dead' whether its name is Jehovah, Allah or Shiva.

If people want to believe they can but they aren't allowed to influence the law or politics or anything else.

Nietsche at least knows that you cannot win a debate by saying something is out dated. You must have more reason than that.

Exactly. The problem is that the religious are still being afforded special privileges and getting away with things that the non-religious never could.

I believe a 14 year old Jehovah's Witness has been allowed to die over "his" religious beliefs, which, strangely enough, differed not one iota from those of his parents.

You can refuse to have the HPV vaccine administered to your daughter on "religious grounds" and they won't administer it. You can't refuse on any other grounds.

The President of the United States claims that God told him to invade Iraq. He can't make a speech without mentioning God fifty times. It still says "In God We Trust" on the money.

This is today, and not much progress has been made. There is still a long way to go.

God isn't dead. To say that God is dead would imply that there was once a god. The reality is that God never was, and until people get their heads out of the sand and admit to themselves that they are fooling themselves, nothing is going to change.

Sounds like what the devil would say. BUT THE TRUTH IS
God will always influence man. I see you have chosen the devil and you are serving him well. You are on the wrong side. Christ wins in the end. There is no hope in your way.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except by Me." You are going the wrong way.

There is a difference between spirituality and relegion.

Spirituality is when an individual seeks GOD (in whatever form)..
and relegion is when organisations EXPLOIT THIS SEEKING for their own MATERIAL ends.

Example:
Read the bible about what Jesus said about money being the least important thing...
Then watch a Benny Hinn (?) show..it's all about money.

It's really as simple as that.

In what way do you feel that you are being made to pander to "outdated religions". Is someone forcing you to go to church? watch Tv evangelists? Pray out loud in public? I'm just curious what it is that you are being made to do against your will.

I have to see/ hear things all the time that I certainly wouldn't choose to do or say, but it is other peoples right to exercize their freedom of speech. As long as they don't make me participate, i'm okay, because freedom is to be protected, not just my own, but everyones!

"If people want to believe they can but they aren't allowed to influence the law or politics or anything else."

You mean religious belief should debar you from standing for Parliament?
