Before you slam me for asking a stupid question, see the following link.

>>>>A FIRE BROKE out in a girl's dormitory in Makkah during March of 2002. The girls, of course, ran out of the burning building. However, the Mutaween -- the Religious Police -- wouldn't let the girls exit the building since they weren't properly covered from head to toe. At least one parent was outside the dorm looking for her daughter. He saw her come out of the blazing dorm but was powerless in front of the Mutaween. He distressingly told her to go back and get her abaya.<<<

WTF IS WRONG WITH THOSE PEOPLE?!?!

I will never be able to get rid of those images. You have NO idea how happy I am that I left that religion! Good grief, that could have been me had I lived in such a country!!!

I really feel like crying now. I just feel so helpless, there's not much we can do about it - that's what ticks me off most.

Hi Tom! People who believe that only under Sharia law women will be treated fairly are just as demonically influenced or demon possessed as the demon possessed man (Muhammad) was. Muslims who really believe the idiotic belief that women are treated equally as men in islam are deluded & demonically oppressed & a great many demonically possessed. EDIT: TO: TTC #1 FOR 2 YEARS, Why don't you go live in a country where Sharia law is the law of the country, after all, it is islamic law, the law of your religion? I ask this to all others who enjoy the freedoms that you have in countries where Sharia law is not established. Please know that if there had not been a man who wanted to be a prophet & became intensely jealous & infuriated when he was not accepted by Jews as not being a prophet (thus he began his raiding, killing, raping, etc., and becoming the kind of person Satan knew he could control & have him do his work for him) a quran & no hadiths would exist --- THEREFORE NO SHARIA LAW. Try to understand that Sharia law would not exist today if the quran had not been written. The hadiths exist only to tell of Muhammad's evil life, judicial practices, & his way of life.

I thought I could go to your link and somehow avoid seeing the picture, but was I wrong! I am literally sick and disgusted by what happens under Sharia Law. I know not everyone believes in God and that's how it's suppose to be, but I don't understand how people say they DO believe in God and then do things like this. Innocence is destroyed, love doesn't exist and there's no freedom or forgiveness in Islam.

God Bless.

OMG! This is an atrocity. You know, normally I respect other religions' laws, even if I don't agree with them. But in this instance, it is completely asinine. These girls are given a death sentence no matter what they do. Too bad we can't lock up the dress-nazi-police behind bars in a burning building.

Usually I try to protect peoples beliefs, including those so radical as Christian and Muslim, but this sickens me. What sickens me even worse is that I know in some parts of the world people of my own faith are doing this. This is such a stupid law --- all laws based on just the fact that the perpetrators are woman should be abolished !!! --- Good God if they are so afraid of the men raping the woman maybe they should all just castrate each other!!

Normally, reading a news article about "religious police" keeping firefighters and rescuers AWAY FROM the victims of a fire would horrify me.

I wasn't really even surprised when I read about those girls being left to burn alive because they weren't fully clothed when the fire broke out in their school.

Just another example revealing the true nature of islam.

Seems like a while back a school full of Islamic girls were barred from exiting in a fire because they were not covered. They died of course. Just what I read but that is not how I feel but then I am a Christian not a Muslim

No it is not a stupid question. There was a case I believe in Saudi Arabia where several schoolgirls died in fire in their school. They were not allowed to evacuate because they were not covered (either just their heads or all of them; I forget).
But that case was shunned, pretty much globally, including other Islamic nations.

But it isnt a stupid question. Its a tragedy that has already taken place.

Oh I found the news link to this story:

This is absolutely disgusting!
Ya, and then they want us to believe that their religion treats their women with utmost respect! Pft, like I believed that anyways.
