the one whose followers do the most good
so far my experience would lead me to say it was Buddhism. Buddhists' pursuit of what is good in thought and action is active, they care deeply think deeply and are of quality!
p.s i'm atheist - this is genuine 'praise where praise is due'

The one that tells the truth. And how do we find the one that tells the truth, you ask.
True religion will follow five things:
1. Use, respect and obey God's Word - the Bible. Not just parts of it that fit what they want to hear, but all of it. (2 Tim. 3:16)
2. They would see that God's kingdom is the only solution to the problems that mankind faces. Realize that God's government does NOT rule through the earthly governments now in place. (Dan. 2:44)
3. They would be no part of this world as Jesus commanded them to be. The people of this religion would not allow themselves to be squeezed into the world's mold. (Romans 12:2)
4. They would be known by God's name - Jehovah, who is most high over all the earth. God's name was originally in the Bible over 7,000 times until a man decided to take it out. (Ps. 83:18)
5. They (the adherents to this true religion) would have love among themselves. Love bonds true Christians. They would love each other regardless of race or ethnic backgrounds. It would be a true world-wide brotherhood.(John 13:34, 35)
When you have found the religion that goes by these five things, and not just some of them, but ALL of them, then you have found the one true religion.

I think it depends because some people say they follow a religion but they break that religions rules. Another thing that happens is that they try to change it. In my opinion the best religion Christianity but Buddhism is very unique. I have seen many Buddhist monks and they are very spiritual. Christians are suppose to be spiritual but somehow some Buddhist monks are more than some Christians. You can't a whole religion based on one person though.

Jehovah's Witness.
We are the most peaceful and follow the loving example of teaching about God's Kingdom and all the wonderful things it will bring.
We do not adhere to customs or traditions of men as many other religions do.
Even in the event they realize they are made up by men and wrong, they are not willing to stop doing them.
We do not venerate ourselves or worship any types idols (crucifixs, kissing the Popes ring, lighting candles, kneeling before statues or saluting & pledging allegiance flags )
We pray as Jesus taught us to, through him but to his Father, Jehovah. When we pray we pray to Jehovah but always end that it is in Jesus' name we're praying. He paid the ransom price for us to be able to talk to his father again.
We do not pray using memorized or reptitive prayers. We pray as Jesus taught, from our heart and with real thoughts.
We recognise the bible does not teach to pray to or through or use anyone else such as Mary or a saint or a priest to pray for us.
We do not teach false doctrines such as hell fire or immortality of the soul. We strictly follow bible scripture. The price sin pays is death, not torture and the dead are conscious of nothing at all until resurrection (takes place during Christ millenial reign).
We do not participate in events or "holidays" that have pagen roots. Another tradition of men that they are not willing to stop doing.
Christmas and Easter are the worst. Full of lies (Santa, flying reindeer, Elves...)and fertility rituals to false gods and goddess. Things like mistletoe, bunnies and eggs.
We teach as Jesus taught that God is not a "trinity" but that his father has a name, Jehovah. And he is the almighty God and higher then his son Jesus.
And the holy spirit is not another, seperate entity, with powers of its own and equal to them both but that it is Jehovahs active force. He uses that force to accomplish his will and can provide portions of it to help others as he deems appropriate.
We believe in Paradise as taught in the bible.
God's purpose for mankind did not change.
To be resurrected to live forever on a paradise earth, not to be reinvented into angels and leave the earth empty.
We do not condone or teach that homosexual life styles are acceptable to Jehovah. We follow God's word that it is wrong and unnatural.
We do not participate in wars. Jehovah's first two rules are to Love him and to love our brothers.
You can't love and shoot to kill with a weapon for political gain, greed, power or religious hate.
This just names a few of the true followings of the scriptures.
Jehovah is Love.

No religion is better than having one, but if you feel you must have a religion at least Jainism and Buddhism are generally peaceful. The Abrahamic religions on the other hand have a long history of intolerance toward others and are especially violent

hmm...I'm a Christian but I don't necessarily believe in the institutionalized religion of Christianity being the best. I think my faith in Jesus is the best. It's not about me striving to perform so many good works to reach heaven. It's not about me trying to stand apart from everyone else to try and get some attention for being a "holy roller". It's about me relying on what God has done for me to reconcile myself to him. It's also about having compassion for my fellow man in general. I believe most religions are man's attempt to reach out to God. My faith in Jesus is God's attempt to reach out to all of us.

For me, the one I was born into, Judaism.
Fab food. Lovely humour. Great, colourful culture.
Fairness: we believe that all righteous people go to heaven, no matter what their religion.
A wise, wonderful, just, sensible religion.
Works for me, anyway.
For those who will inevitably give me thumbs down: I gave an honest answer to the question. Show some decency.

The best religion on the planet is the religion, or rather the belief that the individual holds to be true unto themselves. My religions work best for me. My mother's religion works best for her. Which one works for you?
