yes but depending on how good it is, the picture might not be so great. You may need an upgrade and it also could depend on what area you live in too.

Yes, should do. That's how mine is set up and I've had no problems with it. The signal comes through it the same as the analogue signal does.

If there is any problems with it, then maybe the aeriel needs upgraded which can be done by an aerial installer. However, if you live in an area that has no digital reception then no matter what, it wont work - there would be no digital reception anyway (although it can be worth trying anyway, sometimes there can be. I live in an area where we are on a relay mast, so supposedly no digital. But, I plugged it in and have digital OK)

There is NO such thing as a digital Aeriel they are the same
Yari aeriels as any other

You might Might need a new one because one of the multiplex streams is outside your transmitter aerial group But after switch over all the multiplex streams will be in transmitter group

Depends on how close you live to the stations. Digital boxes in the United States or the United Kingdom need more signal to get a good working digital picture. A signal from an antenna that makes a tv channel look snowy on an analog TV might give NO SIGNAL on a digital TV.

Indoor antennas often need an amplifier or need to be replaced without outdoor antennas. Outdoor antennas might need to be replaced with newer antenna and transmission line (coax) or with an antenna designed to improve digital reception or with an antenna designed for greater reception at a greater distance (more gain).

Give it a try. If not, get a new aerial.

Edit: I'm in the UK, and like "Twisted" my aerial is old and rubbish and rusty and in the corner of a the loft, and we get perfect digital TV. Analogue TV, the picture is really snowy, which kind of disproves the yankee "Broadcast Engineer"s answer really.

Out TV aerial is about 15 years old - it was fitted long before the advent of Freeview.

We can get around 75 Freeview channels, with first class reception on all of them.
