Don't really know but guess it comes from the pictures on ancient Roman pots and drawings of orgies. Maidens and men were often potrayed amongst grapes and multi-fruits. DB

Possibly also the idea from the Bible that Eve sinned by eating the apple. Milton's poem "Paradise Lost" suggests that, having eaten the apple, they "got it together", feeling very fruity. Hope this helps.

Errr...do you mean as in like, "feeling fruity", "going bananas", "going nuts" (although nuts aren't really fruits...r.r).

'Fruit' = 'Pear'.
'Feeling' = 'Fondling'.
So,'Fondling a nice pear' = 'Feeling fruity'.
