I'm a dentist. Yes this is normal for the colour change. Depending on the patient it can be grey, green, purple, or bright red. In a few days this will go away. That colour change just simply means that the site is healing. Just make sure that you keep rinsing the site gently with a solution of warm water and salt. You'll be fine.

yes, it is completely normal. It has to change color, remember it is not fresh blood after a little while. just thank goodness that you have something there and not just an empty socket.

yes it will be gone soon,of course its dead it has no blood supply to it now

Grey tissue usually means that tissue is dying. Not good. You need to call your dentist ASAP!
