I work as a Bank Teller and I live on my own in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. Im 18 and I made about 12,000 this year will I be getting anything back is there something I can claim to get anything back?

You cannot guess at this. The only way to know how much, if anything, you will get back is to do your taxes. Sorry!

If you can still be claimed as a dependent by your parents your taxable income is $6,650 and the tax would be $665. If you can't be claimed as a dependent your taxable income is $3,250 and the tax is $325. Subtract the appropriate amount from what was withheld in Federal income tax and that's about what you'll be looking at for your refund.

That depends who you claimed as dependents. If you claimed 0 then they take more $ out for taxes out of your paycheck. If you claimed 1 (yourself), they take less out but in the end after filing in April, you would get less back. Nobody could give you a number or tell you what you can claim.

Your federal income tax will be around $325 if the $12K is your total income for all year. If you have more than that withheld, you'll get the extra back.

It all depends on how much you had taken out.
