Iam a 26 year old male, and next Wednesday the 6th I go for a medical which includes a blood sample. Now the problem that Iam thinking of is that last night I had about 9pints of bitter, Iam thinking if I dont have a drink from now till after the blood sample that gives me 5days of drinking water (the odd cup of tea now and again). I was wondering though because alcohol does raise you billium levels is there anyway I can help reduce the levels, just so I can make sure I pass my medical?
Iam not an alcoholic or anything I just want to make sure I can pass my medical, so I can get on the study.
Any information will greatly be appreciated.
Thank You

Many diseases of the liver are accompanied by jaundice caused by increased levels of bilirubin in the system. The bilirubin results from the breakup of the hemoglobin of dead red blood cells; normally, the liver removes bilirubin from the blood and excretes it through bile.

You are not an alcoholic yet you drink 9 pints of bitter? Why are you trying to fool yourself? You are killing your liver. Even if you did drink a lot of water, and the bilirubin did go down, what difference would it make to your over all health? You may want to pass your medical exam, but I will tell you, the effects of drinking this much is putting you in grave danger of developing cirrhosis of the liver. High bilirubin is a sign that your liver is not functioning properly and is unable to dispose of the bilirubin properly. You have a problem and need to face it.

You do know that CIRRHOSIS is the dying of the liver from disease or alcohol, right?
