I'd say 5 is too old to *make* a 5-year-old sit on his mom's lap. But if it's his idea, definitely not too old.

Only if he never wants to sit by himself. If he only wants to sit on your lap every so often it's fine but if he wants to sit there all the time and hampers you from doing anything then it's a problem.

my daughter is 6 and she will still sit on my lap... hell im 28, and ive sat on my dads lab a couple times still.

NO no !If you are scared of him becoming a momma boy, don`t worry . Show him as much love as you can, you will built his confidence and make him form a good opinion about him in the future.

no my oldest in 10 and still sits in my lap ( tries to anyhow ) he is almost as big as me.

OMG no. please let him sit on his mom lap as long as he wants. because one day shes gonna wish he would sit on her lap but he well not want to sit on it.

No Way....I'd still hold mine on my lap if they didn't both weigh over 250!! They'll always be your babies.
