It depends on the boss, I think. Some bosses wouldn't be able to stand that you had more money than they did, and they would resent you. Or else they'd think that, since you didn't need the money, you didn't need to be paid overtime or bonuses, etc. You'd never be able to ask for a raise from someone like this, and it would get frustrating, I would think.

Others wouldn't care, and if I loved the job, I'd probably just keep on working. But I've got a job that gives me a lot of flexibility as far as when I choose to work, so that might make a difference to some people, too.

We've always said, though, that if we won the lottery, we would NEVER tell anyone, not even our kids. Some things just aren't anyone else's business, and money seems to bring out the worst in people, sometimes. *sigh*

This is a bit weird for me because I don't have a real job yet. I'm in college pursuing my degree to get my "dream" job. But if I won the lottery I'd DEFINATELY quit working at this place I am at now. I'd finish school faster cuz I could take more classes to get my PhD. THEN I'd open my own business like you guys want to. I would invest and save of course, but I think I would still need to work. Life would be boring without work. Maybe it's because I am still young I think that way. lol

I would probably stay at my job, but I would only work part time for a while until I figured out what I was going to do permanently.

Even if I won millions of dollars, I would still want a job of some sorts--it would be an incredibly boring life just sitting around with money. I need something to fill my time with.

I would probably be a teacher or do something I've always wanted to do, but doesn't pay well.

it shouldn't surprise you at all, the smart people would continue working. remember even a million dollars can be spent. and if you spend one dollar of that million you will no longer be a millioniare. too many lottery winner forget you don't get the whole million. you get roughly half, the rest go to the government then you have to pay taxis on everyting you buy. you will be in a much higher tax bracket so you will pay more taxes. before you know it greed will set in and your money is gone. instead I will keep my job ( especially since I love my work) and invest my money so that it will continue to grow once it has profited I will re alocate the intrest of the investment so that i will get a monthly allowance of that interest for whatever amount I need for daily living. then and only then would I even think of quitting my job. then I will have something to leave behind for my children.

U know i really like my job, as a dormmom in a childrens home..i have 4 boys whom ive come to love as if they were my own, but if i won a huge lottery i might even make sure that 4every one of them were taken care of for the rest of their lives, but i think id like to travel too..but not right away i would probably leave my job, but not before taking care of my business here and making sure id be able to keep in contact with my boys, maybe even adopt them!!..that would be ideal

Are you kidding me! I will ofcourse quit :).

If I don't love my job, then, there is no doubt I will quit.
If I do love my job, I will think about it.

But the reason I will quit would be take, maybe a yearlong vacation, and just enjoy life, read, relax lots, travel to exotic places, visit my country, visit far-flung friends, rejuvenate myself, invest in hobbies, take classes I always meant to take but didn't, spend lots of time volunteering (which I cannot afford much of now time-wise coz I need an income too). Bascially, take the time for myself, for things I need and want to do.

Just the thought of it is making me feel so good.
Oh I wish.

I would stay, at least for a short time.

One it's a stable check comes in every other week. I can always count on that.

Two I have history at my job and feel accomplished when i'm there working.

Three i'd want to see my co workers who alot of times become more than co-workers.

I enjoy my job, but I would work it out with my boss to be able to work part-time. Tues, Wed and Thur. I've given it a lot of thought for when I win the lottery! lol.

i would probably stay, but maybe do it part time. Or i've always wanted to have my own business, so with the money i could start that. But i would deffinitly still work, just because i don't think i could stay home all day, and just waste the money by going out and spending it all.

My husband set up his own business. I don't work so let's just say I wouldn't start if I won the lottery.
