While driving around i noticed a road called Fridays ham lane ! and wonder how it got it's name anyone any ideas?

back during the reign of Henry VIII eating ham was punishable by death but the villagers just couldn't stop eating it so they decided to gather along that road and gorge on pork products while they took turns as watchmen at each end of the road.
