now few bullies sitting on the last row started hooting on me from behind .I felt terribly humiliated and ashmed. I dint know what to do. the professor did not hear the hooting as it wasnt loud.

if you acknowledge their immaturity, this will encourage them.... act as though you never heard them, no eye contact, no turning around... they do not exist. If you dont react, which is what they want, they will move on to someone else.

Ignore them as best you can. Move closer to the front and find a convenient seat where you can easily catch the professor's attention if the bullies bother you again.

OMG! you are in a college lecture hall? What college? Those hooters need to grow up! Did they forget they are not in high schol? Move away from them, like a different row, you don't have time to deal with immature brats!
