Matt.13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth
the good seed is the Son of man; 13:38 The field is the world;
the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares
are the children of the wicked one; 13:39 The enemy that sowed
them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and
the reapers are the angels.
Matt.24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples
came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things
be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of
the world? 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom
against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and
earthquakes, in divers places. 24:14 And this gospel of the
kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all

the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his
glory: 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he
shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his
sheep from the goats: 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right
hand, but the goats on the left.25:34 Then shall the King say unto
them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

If you read the chapter you know it is.
let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of Jehovah cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 2a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as the dawn spread upon the mountains; a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after them, even to the years of many generations. That scripture is usually interpreted to refer to the Assyrian army, that would capture the Northern Kingdom of Israel, and take them into exile less then a generation after the time that Joel lived. It is not normally considered a reference to an "end time" event because it had a fulfillment within a short period of the prophet's own lifetime.

No. Like most of the Bible, it's just fear-mongering to keep the masses in line and prevent them from rebelling against the rich and powerful.
