When I got married, my husband was not a christian. My family was agianst it, but once we got married, He got saved after two years of marriage. I think it's a chance for husbands or wifes to minister to their unsaved spouses!!
What do you think??

It states in the bible that if a husband is saved and the wife isn't and the husband is willing to be with her the the wife is sanctified by the husband.

The fact that you even ask that question tells me you are either in the wrong religion or you do not practice the true religion. So, go ahead and marry. There is no consequence for a Ba'al worshipper to mix with Marduk worshippers. Wait!!! They were both Babylonian gods I think, so it doesn't matter. Go for it. and please for the sake of the kids, don't have any.

Well, I thought it would work out that way (both times) but it didn't. I'm still married to my second husband, and he attended church services with me for less than one year out of the last 16!

Leave the Christians to the Christians. I am Pagan and I was married to a Christian for 10 years..after that fiasco I would never date another. I am happily in love with a Pagan woman who makes my relationship with Divinity even more special.

Just a point of view from the opposite side of the fence.

When I first met my husband, he wasn't a Christian. (He's half Jewish.) I was very firm about my faith, and that I wouldn't change, and he said that's fine, but he wouldn't convert. I was ok with that. I did ask him to come with me to church and he agreed. He continued coming and liked it so much, he was eventually baptized into Christ a couple weeks before our wedding.

But it depends on how strong the Christian is in his/her faith too. I was/am very strong in my faith, and prayed for my then-fiance`.

I think you were fortunate, but you're one of the exceptions. Marrying a non-believer can make your life that much harder, especially if they see your involvement with church activities as "competition."

I was married for 10 yrs before I became a Christian. That was 15 yrs ago and my husband still has no interest. He won't even attend fellowship meals etc. He just. says. no. And he does no, too. He respects my right to go to church etc but he doesn't even drag his feet--I just hit a blank wall of silence. He is not in the least ready to sacrifice his own comfort zone for church or for God. It's like having a room in the house he can't/won't go into; so many things I can't share with him because they simply leave him cold.

If I ever find myself widowed, I would never consider marrying a non-believer. It's too hard.

I know several matchups with Christians and non-Christians. The ones that work the best are the ones who accept each other for who they are and do not feel they have to change or save their spouses.

My sister is a Christian and her husband is atheist. They have been happily married for 15yrs ONLY because they do not "preach" to each other. Why would you marry someone, then try to change them?
