Yes, it probably was

According to this website you can see the Planet Venus low in the horizon: http://www.earthsky.org/skywatching/51086/2007-03050.

But the entry I cited was for the sky 1 hour AFTER sunset, not in the morning. However, it goes on to say that you can sometimes see the planet Venus during the daytime. The planet Venus has been called both the evening star and the morning star because the ancient Greeks didn't know it was the same planet. This means it is possible that you did see the planet Venus.

It would help if you included the website.

According to this website: http://www.shallowsky.com/mars.html
For nothern hemisphere observers, Mars will soar about high in the sky as it gets -- 80° that is almost directly straight up so it probably wasn't Mars.

The other planets are to faint to be as bright as you described. There is a myth that Mars will look as big as the moon, but the website I cited debunks that myth.
