hi, i was givin a relativly new GE washing machine, it runs great but the timer is noisy, sounds like an old electric clock running, is there any way to quiet it? maybee lubricant? It works fine otherwise, Thanx

Sounds like the rotor might be going bad. Is the machine still under warranty? However, I have had clocks and clock driven timers with that noise last 10-15 years, so if the machine is otherwise working correctly, I'd leave it alone.
