Well there are a few things to consider.

The Filipina woman is a beautiful and wonderful woman that many men would love to share their lives with. She is dutiful, responsible, loving, and typically catholic.

The man is also typically looking for a woman who has qualities different than the woman where he lives have. Like for example, in the US, you'd be surprised that many good women are married. Many woman who date in their 30's and 40's and 50's have problems with responsibility, love, self esteem, etc. Further the rate of woman who choose not to marry is rising, more than half of all adult woman are unmarried in the US, yet probably more than 75% of adult men wish for marriage. (I'm not speaking exclusively, not all women or men are like this).

Like Filipina's an American woman wishes to marry a man who can take care of her (not all, but many). So an American man with a good hear and who is Catholic is not enough for an American woman seeking a business executive or a man with making 10million pesos a year. American woman can be very materialistic and unappreciative (just like any), but for the American guy they might get dishartened with failed relationships and seek a Filipina. Why Filipina...because when you meet one, you realize there is something special about them (not all, but many).

Filipinas seek marriage to wealthier men because they have some issues with poverty. Further Filipino culture places the sins of the parents on the daughter. Meaning a 20 y/o daughter is expected to help support her parents, and sometimes her siblings. Not so common for the sons to do this.

Filipinas seek marriage to American men because there is a certain excitment for some of the Filipinas about Americans. Filipinas sometimes think of Americans as fun loving, sweet, kind, and even romantic.

Filipinas do not usually seek marriage with older richer Filipino men because they are usually married, and do not wish to marry the girl, but to make her a 2d wife or a gf. Many wealth filipino men have many gfs and their wives, and these girls do not want to be part of a secret harem. Filipino wealthy men do not seek to marry Filipinas who are poor because they seek to marry in their social status, and education level.

So what about the young Filipino guys who should marry a young Filipina. Well, there is another issue, a cultural issue. If you are Filipino you might understand, but if you are not, it might be hard to explain this. Filipinos seek to marry a good girl, a respectable girl, a girl who is a birhen. Now a Filipino man might engage in sex premaritally (most do), and they will marry a woman who is a birthen who had sexual relations before marriage, but they do not always marry the girl. Many of these girls had signficant relationships before marriage, and the relationship fell apart. I'm not suggesting the girl is a has many bf's--maybe just one ever.

I've surveyed many Filipino men who would not marry such a girl in PI who had serious bf. When in the US the Filipino man has no problem with marrying a girl who had a serious bf, or even a girl who is divorced.

The reason why there is a divorce rate of Filpinas to Americans is because not all relationships work. Further many Americans read what I wrote and think love is automatic. NO! An american man must earn his Filipina brides love, and respect her, and trust her, and show her love too. Likewise, a Filipina cannot expect the man to be the sole bread winner either. Women in the US are expected to work and also should show respect and love throughout the marriage. However, there doesn't seem to be more a higher rate of divorce between Filipina's and Americans than betwen Americans and Americans.

Filipinas For Marriage

I think the question should be why old foreigners want young Filipinas?

But let's admit it, marriage is the easiest ticket to the U.S. If they marry a fellow Filipino from the provinces, probably in the same social status, what do you think will happen to them? It will take generations for them to get out of poverty while marrying an old man would be a breeze to a better life.

and by the way, 48 is still considered young. I know a 25 year old woman married to a 63 year old american.

Not a lot of young Filipinas; only a small percentage. And you have just answered your question. Read between the lines .... impoverished... who else but those who want a life of security would want to marry old men? The May-December thing is common nowadays and do not merit raised eyebrows anymore. Anyway, I don't find anything wrong about such a relationship taking place. If both parties love each other, age doesn't matter.

i only knew one man in my life who was attracted to much younger filipinas. he was almost 70 years old yet traveled to the philippines once a year to find a young filipina to marry. he was already married and divorced 5 times with filipinas (also has a young daughter with his ex). the saddest of it all was that he was a very nice man, i treated him like a grandpa coz i've never met mine, yet he told me that he knows he finds "ugly" girls but he said as long as they had nice bodies and treated him well and didn't take advantage of his US citizenship, he was fine with it. i don't know what's become of him now since i haven't seen him in over two years but the last i saw him, he was in the process of petitioning a 26- year old woman from cebu.

he's also told me that when he goes in chat rooms, he meets girls as young as 16 looking for foreigners, asks them for money so they can supposedly use the webcam in internet cafes, but as soon they receive the money, they disappear.

i ended up marrying a caucasian man 1 year older than i but i was born in the US. i can't speak for all, but maybe, just maybe these people, both men and women are simply looking for someone to love them, and the woman being younger or the man being a foreigner that might give them a better life, just happens to be an added bonus.

It is their only way of coming to America, and having a life that they think will be much better then what they have now. Arranged marriages have been going on for thousands of years, all over the world. It sounds like your father is single for some reason and is lonely, don't be jealous of him looking for another mate, it's his life. Accept what ever happens and maybe you will end up with brothers and sisters that you will love. Just keep love in your heart and things will work out.

I am 59 and my lovely Filipina Asawa is 32 years old. Neither of us are foreign to the USA though. From my roots investigation it was discovered that my paternal side arrived here in 1729 and my maternal side arrived here in 1721. [Both from France; via French Quebec & Nova Scotia] . . . And that was something like a half-century prior to the Convention of the First Continental Congress in Philadelphia. As far as my wife, both of her parents were born here in the United States of America. She is actually from Redondo Beach. The last time that I looked, that is in Southern California . . . NOT a foreign country to me. If white American women didn't suck so much then I would be interested in them. If they could only try to emulate the Fillipinas then they would have men jumping all over them like a hungry spider on a sick fly. Much like you though, they don't know how to act . . . They have a tendency to paint with broad brush. Your father is "interesting" at the age of 48 . . . One might wonder . . . What really happened to your mother? . . . .I hope this answers your question.

I am 51 years old woman. I failed with my previous marriage. So, my reason why I love 64 years old American man because of his good philosophy in life. He is a good christian person. He has shown good relationship to all his children. I love him because he is a decent man not naughty. He won my heart because he passed all the qualities that am searching for to a person.

It's the western woman's own fault for being aggressive and a bloody minded cow to live with. Not surprising that men prefer the Oriental girls.

More often than not, the foreigners are the one that seek Filipinas because of their admirable qualities. Haven't you heard of "age doesn't matter when it comes to love"? What if they really are in love? It's not up to us to dictate whether or not they should marry or not.
