What I did for intro calc (maths) which i sucked at was:
-write notes on the things u dont get
-Do one practise exam
-Mark it
- Write down the things you don't know/couldn't do
- Use your book and figure out how to do the qu's u couldnt do
- Repeat 2 more times
Its a lot of work but it works :) I was getting like 40% on Intro Calc and I got 77% on the exam :)
** For Science Mind Maps work heaps good -- because you can like join all the ideas
** And writing notes... although boring, could be good because if you write in your own words you have 'sorted it out' in your brain and can understand it better

Other than read everything?
Make sure you are well rested the day of the exam.
If you are in college/university, go to the science library and pull the courses' old exams. The new exam is likely to NOT be identical to the one you are going to write, but it will (usually) give you some clue as to the contents of the current exam.
If you're not in college/univeristy, and your folks are willing to help, have them toss random questions from the text at you over the weekend.
Good luck! Now I have to prepare for work. :D

PRACTICE would be number one. Everyday you practice I am sure you would score. I suck at academics but I manage to pull through test after test I guess these points would be helpful
Write down main and important points. If there is a summary page on the book it is good too. Read the summary page. If you can't understand why is this what and why and this are together its okay. Just memorise it. But it would be good if you can understand what happens and why. Making notes is really helpful. Do papers. Past year papers.

Study on a desk.
You can try making lame songs to memorize things, but make sure it's a tune you'll remember [ex. scooby doo, flinstones etc].
The best way to memorize is to write things down over, and over and over and over again and group things that are similar together.
& don't take breaks every 5 minutes but don't wear yourself out. You should go over the material at least once every day until the test, make sure you understand it.

I make mindmaps to link themes together, or go on revision sites. You can also make flash cards and ask some one to give you a prompt to quick fire answers at them. Make rhymes up to help you like: all animals:
R eproduce
E xcrete
E xpire
G row
Hope this helps and good luck.

Is it multiple choice if it is always go with first answer. skip questions your having difficulty with better to finish ones you know first. in studying using flashcards are great, for rote memory questions for essay you have to know what your talking about get key elements of subject just the facts...
