I don't believe that Gillian Gibbons is guilty of anything but that doesn't mean we need to over react by invading. She'll be home soon.

IMO - Leave it to the Diplomats. This issue with the teacher (poor lady) is really only a smokescreen to what is really going on. She will be probably be released shortly and deported. (Why do you think they chose a woman and a Brit, because its more emotive and they want a bargaining chip). Mind you, lets hope nothing happens to Gillian whilst in prison otherwise that will be a different "kettle of fish".
Interesting to see from the internet that:

Currently oil is Sudan's main export, and the production is increasing dramatically. With rising oil revenues the Sudanese economy is booming at a growth rate of nearly 7% in 2005.

Rich mineral resources are available in Sudan including: petroleum, natural gas, gold, silver, chrome, asbestos, manganese, gypsum, mica, zinc, iron, lead, uranium, copper, kaolin, cobalt, granite, nickel and tin.

I wonder if the Sudanese think there "tail is up" at present and "cocking a snoot" at the West because maybe they feel they can barter their resources at present.
This is why we have Diplomats in various countries as they know what really is going down as that is their job and they report back to the Government of the day.
Unfortunately, headlines and soundbites are only a fraction of the story. Read between the lines.

This line of thought offends me. I thought that we should invade Sudan because of the genocide that has been going on there - not because some teacher violated the law and is being punished for it.

Every nation has the right to govern itself - this should include the right to hold sacred the image and name of their prophet. This right should not include the slaughter of innocent people.

I could care less tht she is going to jail for a couple of weeks, but it really bothers me that so many people are being murdered. It flat out angers me that the media (and consequently the western world) cares more about this woman going to jail than they care about Darfur!

Did you hear about that English teacher who named that teddy Mohammed?

No wonder she got arrested, I mean what sort of sick person insults an innocent teddy bear!

Get a grip man get a grip you want to go to war over a person who got just over two weeks in jail. Have you heard any Brazilian go we must invade Britain over the shooting of an innocent man eight times in the head on a tube by the police.

what the hell are you going on about, invading yet another muslim dominant country would ony stir up those minoritive fanatic groups, this would give them more reason to bomb and kill innocent westerners, so no is the answer.
I do think that the sudanese goverment over reacted but it was thier way of sticking two fingers up to the west

We should go in and kick a55 by laying down the law over the genocide being commited there!
Sometimes countries do need ruling by someone other than the people who live there and this and Zimbabwe are cases in point.

This is ridiculous invading a country because somebody broke the rules of their land. Guarantee you if this was to happen to any other citizen of a country outside the UK you would shrug it off.

The answer is not conflict or war how ridiculous!!!!!!

This has been done to have a go at the West. Why not just pull out any of our people who are teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers etc.
