No, each Anti-virus thinks the other is a virus and tries to prevent them from running, and this bogs your system to a crawl.

On the other hand, multiple Anti-spyware and Firewalls can be run safely.

Kaspersky or Eset (NOD32)? Keep the better of the two.

To find out which is better, Google for test results.

Here's an example:

Don't do it! They both have real-time resident protection that runs ALL the time.

The use of 2 or more anti-virus programs at the same time can cause major conflicts. The 2 scanning engines will fight each other to scan every file that you read, write or execute which can cause a major computer slowdown. For the same reason, using 2 A-Vs can cause you to have less protection from the various malware, not more.

(Using an anti-spyware and a firewall with an anti-virus is good, however and is recommended)

You might consider choosing just one A-V and removing any others.

Contrary to what the other posters have said, there is no absolute answer to this question. Nobody can say you can or cannot run two AV's at once with any degree of certainty. I run AVG, PC Tools AV, and Windows Defender all at once. I have run two AV's for years with only one conflict, and that was on an old Windows 98SE rig with Norton and McAffee running together, or trying to at least. They did not play well with each other. When referring to computers, one cannot give an absolute answer since there are millions, if not billions, of different combinations of BIOS settings, operating systems, installed software, processor speed and RAM. To be fair to the others, they are right. You can degrade your protection from using two AV's and your system performance may suffer at times, but do you want to try to recover all your work after a virus trashes your rig? BTW, more RAM will probably solve any performance hits you encounter if you choose to run more than one AV. I run 3 gigs of RAM on my new ACER with Vista.

As long as you disable one it should cause no problems. This defeats the object of having it though. If they do run at the same time they interfere with each other, and weaken your security.

i think its fine.. at least they are not both antivirus.. one is antivirus and one is internet security.. i use avg antivirus and mcaffe antivirus..they work fine even if i run them at the same time.. but i havent tried scanning for viruses with the two of them doing it..

i dont know about your case, but there maybe conflicts with the two of them.. maybe..

EDIT:uhmm i think kaspersky is a better antivirus..

Yes you can have as many as you run, in fact running.

I have 2 antivirus running at the same time. I find it safer...
