I think the Russians drilled into the earths core some time ago.....but without looking it up, I can't remember how deep it was.....they gave up eventually by which time it was very deep....will try and find the answer.
Edit
This is the best I could find
On the Kola peninsula near the Arctic circle, the Russians have built an immense derrick 64 meters high and have drilled a hole 12 km deep entirely through crystalline hard rock."

I'm not sure of the exact depth, but the deepest that I've heard of was a hole drilled by the Soviet Union in an attempt to penetrate the crust and reach the upper mantle. The hole was near Murmansk, Russia, and reached a reported depth of approximately 12 kilometers. They didn't make it to the mantle. The United States also made an effort (the Deep Crustal Drilling Program) which was also unsuccessful.

The Kola Superdeep Borehole, commemorated on the 1987 USSR stamp. The Kola Superdeep Borehole (KSDB) was the result of a scientific drilling project of the former USSR. The project attempted to drill as deep as possible into the Earth's crust. Drilling began on May 24, 1970 on the Kola Peninsula, using an "Uralmash-4E" and later an "Uralmash-15000" drilling device. A number of boreholes were drilled by branching from a central hole. The deepest, SG-3, was completed in 1989, creating a hole 12,262 metres (7.6 mi) deep [1], the deepest hole ever made by humans.

Lots of people are answering with replies that relate to drill holes. Those are not correct answers to your question really, are they. A drilled hole/bore is not the same as a hole that's been dug. A dug hole will have to be big enough to go down into with the digging equipment etc. I did see a picture once of a huge open cast mine with a spiral roadway round the wall of it, with huge trucks going up & down. I don't remember where that was though, sorry!

It's not dug yet...the earth is just being smoothened by consumerism and cruelty and stupid TV programs/ ads/ books/etc... And also by relaying on technics..i suppose the hole will be dug if either something goes wrong with, for example, Internet or electricity stations all over the world, or by the beginning of war ( when someone like our dear George Bush would like to show everybody he's not a little boy any more)

I think the biggest hole would be diamond mines - they are so vast planes sometimes get sucked it. May not be the deepest but they are the most impressive. The Russian bore hole is not a proper hole its just a mere crack.
