Had Mrs Gibbins been ordered a flogging by the Sudan Judges then I would have hoped the members of Answers would have carried out a campaign of protest through our MPs. However, the judges in their wisdom were able to compromise and Gibbins is not to be flogged therefore my question has been resolved. Perhaps," Answers" (you) was a factor! We will never know. Thank all of you for participating I will now sign out Jack R

If you took the politics out of it it would have probably been let by with a word of advise after all it's all that's needed I think people should think seriously before going to these places and let them get on with it. And I would say they should abide by UK rules if they wish to be a guard on the under ground or what ever they should wear the same uniform as every one else

The sentence is irrelevant, because their best legal & religious minds have found her GUILTY

Its funny how many peaceful Muslims want blood over such a trivial matter, the matter being: a Teddy Bear that was named Mohammed by a few School Children

well if you come to the US from other countries you have to obey our laws. Just like that kid a while back that got lashes in Singapore for spray painting cars. His mom was in the Air Force and he still got lashes even after President Clinton asked them not to. They reduced it from 75 to 25 lashes. But if you go to another country you have to abide by their laws. Think of it like this, if i kill someone in another country and go to jail, it was because i "BROKE THE LAW". Now does the crime fit the punishment in her case no. But again that is THEIR law.

Under Sudanese law the janjaweed have been allowed to throw babies onto fires, rape 12 year old girls and force children to murder their parents, so i don't think it needs to be treated as a comprehensive or respectable justice system.

And I really doubt Answers affected the verdict at all, the Khartoum just has to make the vaguest gesture of respectability for the US, UK and China to continue benefiting from their "special" relationships.

Whatever they did to her, she still has the guilty label. She was guilty of nothing, except wanting to help an ungrateful community. Oh how the worm turns.

To be honest, I don't agree with it, but she is in their country with thier laws. we all complain with people moving to our country and trying to change our way of life/laws etc. So, basically we should all stop moaning about it and accept that laws are different in each country, she was there respect them, or stop moaning about the people that are doing the same in our country.
