What a load of bollocks, all drugs are evil!
All I can see is that it will make the work of the police, courts and prison services easier!
It will also encourage the dealers because the sentences will be more lenient!

Yes and no.
It is a relativly safe drug but people need to be aware of the risks surrounding your mental health if you take ecstasy - many of the long term effects are still unkown thanks to it being so 'new'.
The depression that hits users for the 3 days after a night on E can linger in some people and grow into a full blown depression. It can erode away at your sanity if used long term.
Personally I think everyone should try it once but people also aren't able to control their own urges so downgrading it might send out the wrong message.
Yes, there have been a few high profile tragic deaths with this drug but when you look at those in reltation to people dying from drink related accidents it is relativly low.
Really E needs to be controlled so people know what they are taking. The difference between 2 pills can be huge - as can the effects they have on you.

No sense at all.The risks involved far outweigh that of smoking and alcohol.
The side effects of this drug are:
Depression
Paranoia
Anxiety
Mood swings
Panic attacks
Insomnia
Thickening of the blood causing heart attacks, strokes etc.
Liver and kidney problems
Tightening of the jaw
In some instances DEATH.
This can happen in the first hour after taking it.
If this is passed it will give an impression that it is safe to use.
Remember Liegha Betts?I think whoever wants to downgrade this drug need to remember her.

I've seen my fair share of kids, overdosed on Ecstasy, trust me, its not something you want to see, even less you don't want that overdosed person in your car on the way to hospital, its a horror. That fear, will I make it on time to save the kid or is it going to be to late to do anything. Its one experience which I don't need again.
Ecstasy less harm full than alcohol and smoking - I've never heard so much BS in my entire life.

Rather than downgrading Extacy they should have upgraded alcohol and nicotine. I find it amazing that these two drugs are legal considering all the death and chaos that they create. But I guess that it all comes down to money.

The differences are in the sentences that can be given for possession or dealing. The nature of the drug is irrelevant its still entirely illegal to have.
Class A:Possession: Up to seven years in prison or an unlimited fine or both. Dealing: Up to life in prison or an unlimited fine or both.
Class B Possession: Up to five years in prison or an unlimited fine or both. Dealing: Up to 14 years in prison or an unlimited fine or both.

There should not be a class. Drugs should be by prescription only. All others to be classed as illegal carrying a minimum penalty of 15 years.

I thought it already was a class B, and no it doesn't make sense to me, giving people the wrong impression. Are you a parent?

E burns holes in your brain. I've seen people who have been on E for a long time, and they are stuuuuuuuuuuupid! But maybe the government wants us all to be stupid, so they erode more of our freedoms.
