25% is the same as 1/4 of something. Therefore you divide 1000 by 4 = £250.

therefore 25% of £1000 = £250

You just add on an extra zero instead of it being percent ( per cent meaning per 100) its out of 1000. Or because 25% is a quarter you can divide it by 4... £1000 / 4 = £250

This is quite basic maths :/
