I have a classic 160gb version. The battery is supposed to last up to 40 hours playing music. However, the battery completely drains after about 5 hours. Why is that? Have my back light settings set to turn off after 5 seconds, which can be a pain in the butt at times, but that didn't help the battery life very much. What can I do to make my ipod battery last longer? I hate having to charge it every other day.

You can try going to Settings > Brightness, and turn it all the way down. Because the higher the brightness level, the faster the battery runs out. It really takes a toll ...

Unfortunately, I think that's about it. I have to charge mine every other day as well =P If you haven't gotten the wall charger yet, you ought to! It's easier to just plug it in in your room then having to go to the computer and find your USB cord do it (unless, of course, your computer is in your room .... ).

probably cuz your ipod has so much memory, and you have too many songs on it; it drains battery faster.
