I dont mind it. it was my late dad s favorite show, and every time I see it, it reminds me of him

I used to watch it when it was on new and I loved it. It was the first show to show as realistically as possible the conditions that are armed services have to deal with while a way from home.

Still one of my all time favorite shows...right up there with Seinfeld, Cheers, Taxi, Addams Family and All in the Family....that's some major league funny there.

I loved this show.....and I still do. I would bet that many folks do. It brings home the tragedy....the humanity...and irony of what happens in war time. It still resonates in our soul..even more so now. "China Beach" did it well, but it lacked some quality I can not quite quantify.
Smiling.....it lacked the rapier wit and humor of "My Man"...Hawkeye...Alan Alda...

I've been watching the original and now I am watching the reruns - has not lost its topicality yet!
The insight and conclusion about the facts of (any) war still apply today -
all it needs now is that people - particularly politicians - will listen...
