When will the tv. writers strike be over? Why is there a news black out in regards to this?

Is this against Americas freedom of press?

I am getting sick of re runs on t.v.

There is no news blackout. The writer's strike has been fully covered for months before it started. It will end when producers and studios agree to give the writers SOMETHING for the sale of DVDs and internet downloads. Right now writers get 4 cents for every DVD sold and NOTHING for content that is downloaded. Why write for nothing? There will be reruns and reality shows for a long while even after the strike is finished. It takes quite a while for studios to get back in production. Go rent some television DVDs from Netflix in the mean time.

They were just given a new deal, they have until next Tuesday to accept or deny.
