It is a scam created by a egomaniac named Leslie Ronald Hubbard. He called himself L. Ron Hubbard. He was a moderately successful science fiction writer. He served in the Navy where he failed to distinguish himself. His behavior was so erratic and paranoid that he ended up in the psych ward.

This experience combined with his one egomania seems to have pushed him over the edge and led to his rejection of psychotherapy and claim that he cured himself.

The start of this whole Scientology thing was his publication of Dianetics. This was a word he made up for his own form of psychoanalysis and wild claims of enabling people to cure themselves with his techniques.

A quick google search on his name will come back with all kinds of images of him and claims of his great success as a writer, producer, Ships Captain, director, composer etc. However, deeper analysis will reveal that he was indeed a somewhat successful science fiction author, he was not really any of those other things unless you think making films for his own organizations use makes him a "director" or that writing songs for his group to sing on those house films makes him a "composer". There is also a claim that he was granted a Masters License that qualifies him to captain any size or type of ship in the world granted by the United States Coast Guard. There is no such thing.

The whole, so called, religion is based on what is supposed to be a great secret that is only revealed to those who go through a convoluted training process. This training costs thousands of dollars and only after spending nearly seventy or so thousand dollars on it will you be allowed to learn the great secret.

Well, not everyone who went through this process and learned the secret was satisfied that they had gotten their money's worth. They have revealed that secret which you can easily find on the internet. Just google the name XENU.

Scientology is an interesting religion.

Basically I think it's for those people who don't buy the Abrahamic stories but still feel there is something out there, A God. And they need a structure to help conceptualize this.
I've seen no evidence to support any of Scientology's theories as either a science or a religion. It seems to be pure speculation with no logical basis for their beliefs.

The guy that created scienctology is a best selling science fiction book writer. I don't know why people fall for his make believe fantasy.

Science is science, it has no authority. Therefore, it will never replace the need for a God. Science and scientists can prove themselves wrong, but prove reasonable logic behind existence it will never.

Life is ridiculous, deal with it. Just so you know, God created science; not the other way around.
