My friend and I will be on the phone sometimes and she'll get a text from one of her friends and then every once in awhile our conversation is interrupted because she decides to text back. Am I wrong to think this is rude IF she does it one to many times? I hate it when i'm talking and I have to stop because she is texting and texting!

Yes it is rude. When you talk to her on the phone, or when she talks to you on the phone, both of you expects to listen to each other, without any interruptions. You treat her fairly, and that's enough proof that she also needs to respect you while you guys are talking.

Discuss this with her, tell her to make up time for calling and texting. That way, there will be no more interruptions during your conversation.

Very rude and passive aggressive.

I think she's just being polite.

You may want to look at other warning signs... Always dodges your phone calls, avoids making plans, and cancels your plans at the last minute.

These are signs of avoidance and possibly that the friendship is over.

She's already starting to ignore you and may think you talk too much!

Very rude. The next time she starts texting while you are talking say bye and hang up.

All of these gadgets can be great and helpful, but I think that they are making people more and more rude and self-centered.

Good luck with your distracted friend.

one solution is to start texting yourself whenever she gets back on the phone (or fake text). she will either have no problem and not see anything wrong, or more likely she will make some noise about it. then tell her thats what go through whenever you are on the phone

Next time she does that, shout back on the phone and tell her that you think it's rude. And then hang up.

Its very rude. I would say to her 'I'll leave you to it, you can ring me when you're done'. It would be the same if you were talking to her face to face and she decided to turn around and talk to someone else mid-way. Manners should still co-exist with technology!

may be you should tell her if she is your real friend. Friends should always talk and discuss anything which comes in between..
