Um I think I saw a real life TROLL the other day?! (THIS IS NOT A JOKE, Please read on)......................?

Question

I know this sounds horrible but she was short, had short straw like (ugly) hair, no chin, dark brown rings under her eyes (making them look very sunken), a nose like Shrek's, and ears sticking straight out.... I guess you could say she looked a lot like a non-green version of Shrek. Honestly she was like something from a movie, and I felt extremely sorry for her, even though (gladly) she was with family.

What I am asking is this... was this just a very freakishly ugly woman or is there some type of troll/ogre/gnome (whatever you'd call it) condition?? Maybe it has some weird name?... And has anyone else had a similar experience (seen someone like this)? Sorry, it was just too weird...

I know this sounds awfully mean and I really do NOT mean it that way, I am just looking for real answers... honestly this woman was so strange looking it was all I could do not to stare.

Please, serious answers only (this is not a joke) and again I do not intend on offending anyone. Thanks

since you were amazingly ill-mannered enough to post this multiple times, i'll post this on all of them:

this will probably get me many thumbs down, and normally i gloss over ones that bother me, but i can't quite keep my mouth shut on this one.

so, wow, you're one of THOSE people. the kind who, when i'm out with my friend who has an extreme disfigurement, stares and whispers and sometimes even has the nerve to ask him what happened to his face. THOSE people have no clue what his real personality is like, have no interest in possibly seeing who he really is and have no idea just what a wonderful person they're missing out on knowing just by being so rude and uncaring. THOSE people don't know how often he has heard comments or noticed people staring, and given their lack of discretion, they don't seem to care anyway. THOSE people don't realize that their actions have been a big contributing factor in him limiting his time alone in public simply because he can only handle so much pain on his own before it gets to him. THEY don't see him as more than a scarred person to be pitied and made fun of, never knowing that he is worth a thousand of them any minute of any day.

sorry, honey, but offense is taken. it's not that you questioned her looks or what could be "wrong" with her; it's that you put your own values of what is attractive in a person on her and assume she is needing your pity at all. it's not that you don't sound remorseful in your question; it's that you don't even realize how hurtful your actions that day were by staring or how prejudicial and unkind your statements are now in describing it. did you stop to think she may be reading this? or the family that she, thank GOD is so lucky to have, may see this?

i have a suspicion that her life is probably much more full than you can imagine. if you were able to look beyond the surface of those around you, yours may be more full as well.

The woman in questtion may have been a dwarf. There are many types of dwarfism and since I did not see her I can not tell you what her condition is.
