I do not have personal experience with this organization. I have helped some friends with debt issues, and I have concluded none of these organizations actually help you.

The worst ones will advise you to get further into debt, in order to force your debts into collections and then they will negotiate for settlements less than the debt. This is unethical, gives your credit rating the same hit as filing bankruptcy and many times they don't succeeed, leaving you with a really severe mess.

In the best case they may make you feel better, but your problem does not go away, and there are fees, so actually your situation gets worse.

Your best bet is to try to get over your emotions attached to the debts and problems, sit down and create a budget for all your income with a focus on paying minimum on all bills, except your smallest outstanding debt. Pay it with as much as you can throw at it. Then call all your creditors and tell them what you are doing.

Just having a plan will make you feel better, and after a year you will see results. Takes a lot of discipline though.

All the best

Fresh Start America is simply the best in the settlement industry. While debt settlement is not for everyone, settling your debt is the quickest and cheapest way to get out of debt and makes the most sense for people who are already behind in their payments. If you choose to enter a settlement program, make sure you use a company that is a member of TASC, which is the association that governs the settlement industry.

Stay away from debt settlement services. They do not have your interests in mind and you will likely end up worse off for getting involved. There is no free lunch.
