Do you still want to see I Am Legend after finding out that it is PG-13? I myself will pass on any movies that should be rated R, but the studio makes it PG-13 because they want more money!!!!!! That's bs.

Have you seen the movie/documentary "This film is not yet rated?" It gets to the heart of your question and many of the correct answers here. If you haven't, it's humorous along the same lines as "Thank You for Smoking."

Anyway, I just wait for the "Unrated" directors cut to come out, then I can see the film as the director intended it.

My personal opinion: The ratings system is a joke. Why in the hell would we give a lower rating like a PG-13 to a movie where people are killed but a higher rating to one where they have sex? Killing is illegal so I can't comment on how much fun it would be. Sex on the other hand can be all kinds of fun and it's legal but we don't want to expose kids to sex? Something is wrong here.

Anyway... if you haven't seen This film is not yet rated, do yourself a favor. Although you'll probably hate the MPAA rating system and the morons behind it even more.

what you said, it's all about the money. PG-13 appeals to everybody thus more money and no sex or gore.

Actually, I find that they are being even stricter w/ their ratings. They baby the young generation and dont' think it's appropriate for them to watch ANYTHING!!! it's ridiculous!
