American movies and the culture displayed in them have diffused everywhere ( e.g. Jerry Lewis and The Godfather series ). Also, American TV. Especially the Western genre.

Blue jeans have become ubiquitous in the world and certainly started in the U.S. Casual fashions in general ( sneakers, T shirts --and now, God help us, baggy and low rider pants ) have gone from the U.S. out ( haute couture from France and Italy IN ).

Fast food such as hamburgers ( albeit named after Hamburg ), hot dogs ( albeit named after Frankfurt ), fried chicken ( a la KFC ), ice cream sundaes and milk shakes.

Comic books have taken over the literary scene in Japan although started in the U.S.

Typically American sports : baseball, (American) football, basketball have taken root elsewhere in the world.
