Yes. I own a slim PS2 and God of War, and GoW works fine with my PS2.

The PS2 slim model is exactly the same as the original PS2 model exept for the obvious design change and the fact that it does NOT SUPPORT THE HARDDRIVE. Therefore only games that require the harddrive will not function such as Final Fantasy XI. God of War II does not require the harddrive so it will work.

Of course it does!
The only problem I heard about with God of War was that it didn't work for some who had the original PS2, and still then not many of those people had a problem.

Yes, it should, no reason that it will not. I got one and every ps2 game I own works on it.
