Who are these "people" who told you it was cancer? Unless they are medical professionals who are intimately familiar with your medical history, it was very stupid of them to make this irrational conclusion, and very cruel of them to scare you like this!
At age 13, it is extremely unlikely this would be breast cancer. There are a variety of reasons you may have a "bump", not just a cyst. For example, It might be a hair follicle that is blocked. It might be a boil. It might be a harmless growth. It could be a whole bunch of things; but chances are it is harmless and normal.
Only your doctor would know for sure. If that is too expensive or inconvenient, see your school nurse for her opinion. You could also go to a Website such as WebMD.com where you can describe your symptoms and get some specific ideas as to what's going on.
Please don't worry. Try one of these suggestions for a more professional opinion, and you'll feel much better getting a diagnosis from an expert!

A lump in the armpit caused by a generalized viral infection will eventually disappear without treatment. A lump in the armpit caused by an allergic reaction will go away after the "trigger" is removed. No treatment is necessary for a lump in the armpit caused by normal breast tissue. Usually, no treatment is necessary for a cyst.
A lump in the armpit caused by a lipoma is harmless, unless it grows so large that it causes discomfort.
The outlook for cancerous lumps depends on the specific type of cancer.
You should have your parents take you too see you PED and have a doctor anser this for you instead of yahoo.
Good luck and take care!

it could be one of many things, but you're too young to even consider worrying about cancer. It's probably a blocked hair follicle, which will work itself out in a week or so, or a swollen lymph node, which may require a trip to the doctor. If it is a swollen lymph node, there is nothing to be worried about. The doctor could clear it up with antibiotics or possibly cut a small hole in it and drain it, which is basically painless. A cyst is similar to the lymph node problem, but is not dangerous. It's just a sac of puss, air, or other fluid that has collected in one area for some reason. Again, the doctor could clear it up with either antibiotics or cutting it out. Dont worry...just tell a parent, nurse, or doctor and you'll be fine!

Do you shave your armpits? You might just have an ingrown hair. If you can see the tip of the hair poking out, you can try to pluck it with tweezers - this REALLY HURTS. Or you can just deal with it until it works itself out - probably the better option. Be more careful when you shave next time.
