My dentist was sending bills to an old address of mine and the bills were never returned to the dentist so they assumed that i was receiving them. Therefore, they sent me to collections without even calling me. Did they use proper procedure? What can I do to get this off my report as the dentist refuses to do anything besides send me a letter saying they had an old address. The collection agency will only remove it if the dentist says that it is there fault. THANK YOU for your help!!!

This is of no surprise. The Dentist office did not do there job. First question should of been asked of you is your information in our files up to date?
OK now that is out of the way. Send a letter to each credit reporting agencies, And follow up that same letter to the collection company and one to your dentist. Sending them all your current address.
(Funny how the collection co. had your address but the dentist did not?) Then go directly to your dentist office and talk with the dentist himself. Let him know of your dismay of them not asking for your information as i have stateed above. Since you where in pain or not thinking at the time it never accord to you of your move. Ask him to remove the item from collections and pay him right away.
