Depends on when you started taking the pill. It is not very effective for the first month that you are on the pill. They recommend that you still use a condom or other birth control methods for the first month. The pill is only 94-96% effective after that. Also, if you take are on the pill, even for a while, and you take anti biotics for any reason, it conflicts and makes the pill much less effective too. 100% effective is the condom AND the pill but after taking the pill for a few months, you should only need the pill. The hard part is remembering to take it every day! :)

It's important that you use a condom with the first pack of pills and also the first week right after your period thereafter.....that's when you would be most fertile if the pill failed. Pills prevent ovulation, and there is always a chance of breakthrough ovulation if you took your pill late, or had to double up. Most women get pregnant on the pill because they missed one and forgot to double up.

Could you have a STD as well? He is only your boyfriend. Who else has he been with? Lets stop being stupid and stop taking chances. Have your boyfriend wear a condom as well and you get checked for STD's. How about you start preventing yourself from STD's as well? Birth control pills does not prevent STD's. They only help to prevent pregnancy. I wish you people would wake up. BIRTH CONTROL PILLS CAN HELP PREVENT PREGNANCY BUT IT DOES NOT PREVENT GETTING A STD. Women make your boyfriend wear a condom or your one night stand and men wear a condom regardless. Its both men and womens responsibility to make sure they remain safe from STD's. You think getting pregnant is the worst of your problems. Get infected with a STD. Kids will kill you but not as fast as some STD's can. Do you and your boyfriend a favor from now on. Make him wear a condom. If he loves you and respects you, he will do it regardless if you are on birth control. Have some self respect for your body. Dang.

It depends on how long you have been taking the pill. Each birth control method has a period of time you have to wait before it takes affect. Check with your doctor

YES! I am living proof. I got pregnant while on the pill. Especially on a low dose pill. I would consult your OB/GYN to get details... be cautious. Protect from STD's too, there are so many out there.

There's a very very very slight chance. I'm on seasonique and my boyfriend and I don't use condoms either. If you take the bc religiously exactly when you're supposed to you should be fine.

By religiously I mean I wake up at 6am everyday regardless of whether or not I need to be up at 6 and take my pill.

Yes. The only thing that can keep you from getting pregnant is abstinence. The pill is not 100% effective. Neither is a condom

Birth control is only 99% effective so yes there is that 1% chance that you could get pregnant.
