I say you should have to clean your room daily and to clean your parents room or siblings room and if they don't like what you have done, they get to each spank you with whatever object they want. Belt, Board, Noodle, or feather. I say if you don't learn fast with this then you should be made to clean the yard with nothing more then a diaper on.

at my house if it is on the floor for 24 hours it is mine. Usually I donate it. But I am not so old I don't remember being a teen. I do like the every two things you pick up one thing gets donated. It will help you to respect your things. I would say this time the punishment should be after the room is clean, volunteering in a position where you see how not everyone has what you have. Maybe serve at a soup kitchen, or clean at a family shelter. I bet it would help you to have more respect for your stuff. After that experience I would start the every other thing on the floor gets donated.

Why are they angry with you because YOUR room is messy? If you are doing your duties in the rest of the house they have no reason to be angry. It is your domain. Just tell them that you will keep the door closed all the time. Then you can live in your own **** until it becomes to much, even for you.

Instead of worrying about it needing to be cleaned, look at it as it needs to be organized. when things are organized you can find what you looking for easier and the bonus to all this is that you will enjoy being in there. When things are unorganized, so is your mind. It actually causes chaos and cunfusion in your brain. Organized room means organized Brain. So go get organized. Your punishment will be telling your parents what the difference between the two are.

Tell them I said that you should just be forced to clean your room, if you don't then they'll take the bedroom door off the hinges, or they once it's clean (or not) they'll take every item they see on the floor from then on, throw it into a large garbage bad and you don't get it back for (insert number of months here (xx) )

You get to clean your room AND the bathroom.
Or you can stand outside wearing a pig costume and a sandwich board that says "I won't clean my room."
Third option---design your ideal bedroom, one with plenty of storage (so you will need to take stock of what you have, and research various shelving and closet organization systems). Do a floor plan and elevations and everything. I've noticed that kids often have a hard time keeping their rooms neat, if there's no place to put everything.

In the army when a soldiers room is messy, we make them take EVERYTHING out and clean it from top to bottom. and i mean everything, right down to 4 bear walls. scrub the walls, the chair legs, the drawers. then put everything back in nice and neat. one thing at a time and everything in its place.

Have them take away the wireless utility from your PC so you can't get on the Internet. You get it back when your room is tidy & it goes again when it's messy. Worked for my kids.
