A little more than a week ago, I fell of off a treadmill and injured my knees as well as my sternum. Falling off of the treadmill was very painful... since i was running at a great speed. i called my doctor but she suspected that it was not broken since I felt no throbbing pain, but just a brief aching when doing certain positions. Its been a week and the pain is still there, its not bad, but i do feel it when i poke my sternum or move in certain positions....

I am getting nervous if its broken or just aching? is it normal for it to hurt a week after the incident?

Should i consult my doctor again or get an xray?

Also, what is the treatment for a broken/ injured sternum?

You actually have to consult your doctor, because you cannot get an x-ray without an order from her. X-rays are like prescriptions... just like you can't walk into the pharmacy and ask for drugs, you can't walk in and ask for an x-ray without an order from a physician.
