I don't know about "super", but they do seem more inclined to lean that way, as compared to the Dems; quoting scriptures and the like. Perhaps it's just a way to get support from religious fanatics when they really don't have a viable platform. And apparently it works!
It's interesting that in this upcoming Pres. election the top Democratic contenders are very immersed into their respective religions; Romney & Huckabee, which makes me feel a little uneasy. Even though Giuliani has a Catholic school background, I believe that religion would not get in the way of his presidential decisions. If he tried this ,he would be an easy target for hypocrisy.

Are you referring to the Branch Davidians of Waco,Texas?
Just Kidding! Republicans are not religious wackos, but
many Republicans are Christian. There is nothing wrong
with the fact that many Republicans are Christian.
Would you rather see a Republican Party which
primarily consists of Al Qaeda members ?

I'm sorry but isn't Waco a town in Texas? I am religious first and conservative second. Not sure what "super religious" means though.

Why not ask why democrats are super environmentalist wackos? The far right base is not any more fanatical about God than the far left is about worshipping the environment. Difference is, the far right reads the Bible for guidance, and much of far left reads Silent Spring for guidance.

stop and think....what a question....
should it not be "why are religious wacos republicans..."?
have you ever heard of the Bible....its a book that guides morals and ethics of Christians.....
If the Bible says that "[God] knew while we were in the womb..." then Christian are probably going to believe that life begins at conception...
science: definition of a living organism= any unit made up of one or more cells is a living organism.
Republicans are generally pro-life,,,Christains will by-in-large vote republican....

It only seems that way because a small minority of the party has taken control. I think most people are tired of "Christians" telling others how to vote or what to think.

I am a Republican and I am not religious.
I guess the question should be:
Why are liberals so willing to generalize and stereotype people yet so politically correct at the same time?
