i need to change the transmission oil on my bmw but idk how to check the level of it and i dont no where its at

The black cylinder with a "star" cap which the previous guy referred to is the Power Steering reservoir. Nothing to do with your transmission even though it may say "Use ATF only" on it since some of the power steering systems use ATF.

if you look hard enuf you will find it if im not wrong its just behind the radiator to the right of the engine block its got a star looking cap if you dont see it i dont blame you it took me weeks to find it its a little black cylinder
